Dear friends,

In September the historic Winton Train travelled across Europe from Prague to London. Aboard were “children” rescued from Nazi camps by Nicholas Winton, who were now looking forward to meeting with their 100-year-old “Nicky”. For four days the train became part of a story that began seventy years ago at Prague’s Main Station, where the children last waved to their parents and then dispersed through Britain to all parts of the world – only to meet once again aboard the train.

Among them was eleven-year-old Tal from Israel – the grandson of a rescued child – blonde and blue-eyed, who was not mistaken for a girl only because of the yarmulke on his head. He fi lmed the stories of the one-time children – now grandmothers and grandfathers – just like the crews from the BBC and Czech Television. More
